Being an IT professional gives you an opportunity to hop jobs very frequently. Atleast that's been the trend in the recent times given the number of people who've joined and left my company. And when you hop jobs, you can get into all sorts of organizations, big and small, desi and v-desi, services and products based.Every organization has a structure that represents employees positioned at various levels in it. Levels as I understand broadly categorize all the employees like for e.g. there are some companies which follow the banding system, in which each band signifies a set of roles and ofcourse then there are other companies where you get caught in the "Matrix". Report in to 2 managers at any time, well that's what I could understand. I'm sure there is much more to it than I think.
As I say, the "Matrix" comes with own set of advantages and disadvantages. Depends on how well its knit. I'm working my way through it...interesting to see how far I can get and which side of matrix my career would be traversing. Will let you all know once I come to know of it :-) . Till then chill !.
